Our corporate commitment to excellence involves supporting our communities through two initiatives – our Care (Caring Associates Responding to Everyone) program and the Scott & Stringfellow Educational Foundation.

Our CARE program was devised to assist our communities through various outreach initiatives including monetary donations and volunteering with local charities. As an organization of a whole, Scott & Stringfellow understands the importance of our communities and we encourage all of our employees to participate in these initiatives. Currently, we support over 30 charities in the Greater Richmond area and this number continues to rise with each passing year. Scott & Stringfellow Educational Foundation
The Scott & Stringfellow Educational Foundation was founded in the spring of 1993 as part of the 100th anniversary celebration of the founding of Scott & Stringfellow. The Foundation provides need-based scholarships, with some consideration given to merit, to students in the communities where Scott & Stringfellow has offices.

Scholarships for post-secondary study are awarded to either high school seniors who will graduate during the current academic year or who are planning to enroll full-time in an accredited U.S. College, university, technical, or vocational school, or to students currently enrolled in such institutions.

In order to be considered for a scholarship, the applicant must reside in one of the communities where Scott & Stringfellow has offices and should submit three copies of an application packet, consisting of the application form and a copy of the first two pages of the most recently filed parents' tax return(s). High school seniors will need to provide a copy of their most recent transcript, including SAT scores and a letter of recommendation. Students who are already enrolled in college must provide a printout of their college transcript through the end of the first term of the current academic year.

The deadline for receipt of applications for the 2012-2013 Academic Year is Friday, February 24th, 2012 and all applications should be mailed to the address below.

An independent selection committee will have the responsibility of selecting the recipients and determining the amount of each award.

• Applicant's demonstrated need and an evaluation of successful college completion as determined by a prior academic record.
• Leadership roles in school and community activities.
• A personal statement of educational goals and aspirations.
• The chief consideration, however, will be financial need and any incomplete applications will not be considered.

The amount of each annual scholarship award ranges from $500 to $2,000 annually, depending on the financial need of each recipient and the cost of attendance at the institution of his or her choice. These amounts are subject to change, depending on the availability of funds in any given year.

Receipt of another scholarship award from another source will not disqualify an applicant from receiving an award, but may be taken into account when determining the amount granted. In addition, scholarship may be granted for up to four years or until a bachelor's degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Recipients will be required to submit a new application and transcript each year to show satisfactory academic progress and submission of the application materials is mandatory for consideration in subsequent years.
